CI introduces new SADE SP range of Tablet/Capsule Weight Sorters with SP Link

Speeds up to 27,000 items per hour can be achieved with the new SPX40 range of SADE tablet/Capsule weight sorters from CI Electronics Ltd. For a pharmaceutical manufacturing department, such increased speeds mean a significant saving in time and funds when reclaiming acceptable product from a batch that has been rejected on a weight sampling test or for 100% weight checks.

The new SADE SP240 and SADE SP140 sorter models feature the all new Ci-Matrix4 touchscreen interface that guides users through machine setup options and simplifies the process of running sort batches. The new screen designs provide simpler access to features such as sort and bin limits, security, advanced diagnostics and improved error messages, while the new real-time display of batch data make it easier to monitor the progress of each batch. Reports can be printed directly from the sorter or, if wished, data can be exported for storage on a PC or network server.

A key benefit of all SADE SP Sorters is their ability to handle most shapes and sizes of both tablets and capsules with no change parts necessary and minimal operator adjustment. Rapid cleandown and quick set-up shortens the changeover time between sorting completely different product.

The SP240 and SP140 both use the proven SADE SP pre-feed gate and Mk6 CI balances to ensure reliable high accuracy weighing and sorting to plus or minus 1 mg for 24 hours a day thanks to bulk hoppers with up to 120 litres capacity. All contact parts are manufactured from electropolished 316 stainless steel or PEEK (polyetheretherketone).

Advanced Vibratory Control (AVC) technology ensures consistent bowl and hopper feeder performance from cold start to the end of the batch. This, together with the new self-adjusting optical detectors and high performance air pressure regulators, now fitted as standard, further reduces the need for operator adjustments and provides assurance for long term unattended operation of the SADEs.

The new SP Link mode allows an SP240 sorter to be connected to either one or two additional SADE SPX40 Sorters by means of an SP Link cable. The host SADE retains control of all the weighing channels and provides one consolidated record of the batch results. The SADE SPX40 Sorters can be returned to independent operation by simply deselecting SP Link mode and removing the SP Link cable thereby offering greater flexibility and reducing the risk of downtime.
